Teacher

Funding Education

The list of grants for teachers, that I found interesting, would be the GetEdFunding. https://www.getedfunding.com/c/index.web?s@uMHdVR7Bmu3Pg

Another one would be Teach make a difference grant https://teach.com/what/teachers-change-lives/grants-for-teachers/

If I were awarded the money I would provide my students with unlimited resources for school supplies and money for them to attend school as well.

2 more resources where teachers can find grants and provide:

Khan Academy

This website can provide a free, world-class education to anyone, anywhere no matter how old you are and who you are. Regardless of gender, family income, race, or ethnicity. The education are able to unlock their full potential and accomplish great things.

Three lessons I found interesting:

The Origins of Algebra because mathematics is my least favorite subject and also i have a little one on one time learning the subject. This lesson provides you with videos learning it step by step. It provides practice tests for you to take and also will allow you to keep trying.

Another lesson I found interesting would be Official Praxis® Core Prep because this allows you to take practice tests, it breaks down your strengths and weaknesses and also provides feedback.

Finally, the last lesson I found interesting would be Computer programming because it starts from the basics and works its way up to your speed.

A New Globe

I

I went to the search engine box and searched education and a bunch of education places popped up. I went to the first place which was Gateway Head Start Early Education Center in Atlantic City, and placed a Placemark on it. I zoomed in to get a better look of the place. I recorded a video of the placemark i searched with the mouse by going to the video camera icon.

Worksheets

The benefits of using worksheets in the classroom

If students spend all of their class time doing worksheets and the teacher sits at the desk.  Students will lose their focus not to struggle, with what they do not know or understand.  If the teacher walking around offering individual student guidance, it could be fine. A better use of worksheets could be having students solving problems in groups, with the teacher walking around checking on progress and offering guidance.  Worksheets can also be gone over with the class as a whole, so that students problems are solved as a class.

I Searched on google for “online worksheet generator” then clicked the first thing that popped up. I went to the https://www.education.com/worksheet-generator/ website and clicked just for fun worksheet generator. Finally, I made a Sudoku puzzle and took a screenshot using the snip windows tool.

The negative effect of using worksheets in the classroom

They offer the student a means of practicing problem-solving, either in the classroom or as homework.

“Personal Learning Network”

I learned to always have connections to social media to stay connected and educated on it. They can help yup share your education ideas with others and work with other on this PLN. You need steps to get to those connections and build up you blogging. Set up the goals you want to become a better you. To me a PLN in my own words would be Keep learning and growing and building .

“Webquest Evaluation”

The three Webquests that I would consider using in my classroom. I liked http://he effects of an inquiry-Internet research project on motivation, self-efficacy, and academic autonomy in heterogenously grouped high school Latin I students Wagman, Janet Campbell, Ph.D., Capella University, 2005, 176 pages; AAT 3162731 because it talks about Latin students who have trouble with connecting with subjects and poor performances in Latin classes. So they put together this self motivation and self efficiency class to help them give a better performance in academics. Studies show it made a major increase for Latin students. I would use this because any motivation to help one student could help thousands of students. Everyone needs motivation in life to help them achieve their goals.

Another Webquest I would use in my classroom is http://The WebQuest creation process: A case study of preservice teachers working individualistically and collaboratively Roberts, Leanne M., Ph.D., The University of Akron, 2005, 215 pages; AAT 3175341 working individually is always good and working collaboratively. It some cases for students it works better for them physically and academically. I like it because I can relate to this because as for me when i was younger it helped me out in tasks for school.

Lastly, I would use this in my classroom http://Using the Internet to research curriculum-based topics at the grade five level Bryand, David A., M.Ed., University of Prince Edward Island (Canada), 2005, 140 pages because technology has been a major impact on today and kids are in love with it. They are up to date on technology and will continue to grow. Especially fifth grade are engaged in the internet and social media. You need to know a lot about it because even doing schoolwork you have to turn it in on the internet not handwritten anymore.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
